auburn scour is an electromagnetic sound and light sculpture, featuring a copper coil wrapped around a loudspeaker, picking up variations in the magnetic field of the driver and feeding it back into the audio signal. The compositional algorithm is based upon two generative rhythmical sequencers; one for the main melodic voice, and the other to chop the electromagnetic signal into musical, rhythmic pulses. An additional four-voice chord generator creates a backdrop of sparse, harmonic sweeps dependent on the notes produced by the main voice.
