void extrusion is a prototype exploring both digital signal processing and 3D printing. The algorithmic composition is built around two ever-evolving sequencers programmed on a Daisy Seed, with a Nano Every driving the 32×8 LED matrix, changing patterns and colors based on musical cues. The reasoning behind using two microcontrollers is that the callback in the Daisy don’t work very well with the strict timing requirements of the WS2812b LEDs. Unnecessarily expensive, but necessarily necessary – although I in hindsight probably could have used a cheaper ESP-01 module.
